Ekam began in 2009, driven by Dr. Sailakshmi Balijapally’s clarity: preventable newborn and maternal deaths start long before hospitals. We began by operationalising SNCUs, mentoring nurses, and building processes that keep fragile babies alive, working hand-in-hand with government.
